SENIOR FAFASA Night
Dear Tiger Community, We would like to take a moment to clarify the purpose behind the "emergency incident" alert notifications, particularly in light of recent questions and concerns. We understand that seeing emergency vehicles on a school campus can understandably cause concern for families and the broader community. To ease worries and promote transparency, we aim to provide notifications about incidents on campus whenever we can. In instances where a student experiences a medical emergency—whether it’s a minor injury or a more serious situation—the Aztec School Health Team assesses the need for further medical attention. If necessary, Emergency Services are contacted to ensure the well-being of the student. Our priority is always to work closely with the impacted family and Emergency Services to address the situation quickly and effectively. Once the situation is under control and the student is safe, we send out an alert to keep the community informed. At the same time, please know that we prioritize the privacy and safety of the student involved, which is why specific details are kept confidential. We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate these sensitive situations while keeping the best interests of our students and staff at heart. Sincerely, Aztec Municipal School District

Good Morning Vista Families, This morning, our fire alarms were activated accidentally while maintenance was being completed on the roof of our building. We briefly evacuated the building until it was discovered that the alarms had been accidentally activated. After officials verified that the building was safe, students returned to class, and operations resumed as normal. Presently, there is no emergency on-site, and all students and staff are safe. Thank you, Aztec Municipal School District

Hello VNHS Families, This morning, we had the fire alarm at Vista Nueva High School activated, and some individuals reported the smell of smoke. Out of an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated, and emergency responders worked with district officials to inspect the building. As the building was inspected students and staff waited in the Library. It was determined that there was no fire and the building was safe for students and staff to return. It appears that the alarm was activated by the heating systems. At this time, all parties are safe, and operations have resumed as normal. Thank you, Aztec Municipal School District

Friday, November 22nd at 11:30 AM, we will be having our annual Thanksgiving feast. Our meal will be taking place again in the gymnasium next door. This is always a special day at Vista and we would love for our extended family to join us again in giving thanks for the many blessings in all of our lives. We had a tremendous turnout last year, but unfortunately ran a little short on food. The school will be providing turkey and will have all of the plates, napkins etc. We would love anyone's contributions to this feast. Below is the link for signing up to bring your favorite dish. Thank you to everyone that can contribute and we look forward to seeing you next week! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0945ABAD2EA2F4CE9-45869634-vista
